Updates

2020

31st December
At the end of 2020, which has been a challenging year for us all with the Coronavirus pandemic, I have added the remaining specimens acquired during the year. Let us hope 2021 returns us all to a more normal life, and allow more attendance at minerals shows and events. Happy New Year!

2018

1st March
As well as adding new specimens I have added specimens that were purchased more than a decade ago. I have used the old photos taken at the time, so they aren't as high resolution.

2017

30th December
I have been somewhat busy this year and haven't had the time to update the website until now. This update is in the order of 100 specimens starting at #01310. Enjoy!

27th July
A large batch update, since I haven't added any to the site for a little while.

2015

22nd November
As well as keeping up to date with new aquisitions I've been delving into items purchased more than a decade ago and adding these. Obviously, the quality and size of photos from that period is not as good but at least the specimens are making it into this online collection listing.

I still haven't had the time to take many of my own photos.

22nd September
The year has been very busy in many areas and I'm only managing to keep up to date with adding new specimens in large groups.

Haven't yet had much time to take many of my own photos.

2013

27th December
I'm managing to keep up to date with adding new specimens as they arrive.

I'm close to completing the build of my photo table, but there is some work to do on the lighting and reflectors so I haven't managed to do any of my own specimen photography yet.

6th July
Well, I had a bit of a push and have managed to add specimens both by country and species. Hopefully there are no inactive areas where I haven't added something. As long as I keep on top of adding new acquisitions it will then be a continual process of adding older specimens, typically at least a decade or more older.

I haven't managed to do any of my own specimen photography yet.

31st March
I've eventually finished building the start of the website which holds a record of my mineral collection. The use is primarily for me but other people may find it useful. In this release you'll find specimens from across Europe, not complete by any stretch of the imagination, but it's a start. The latest acquired specimens will be added when they arrive. As for older specimens I'm not sure if I'll input future updates by country or species.

Since I'm also re-indexing specimens collected over a number of decades the specimen number is not necessarily an indication of aquisition date.

Not all of the coutries idetified have specimens included at this point and therefore do not have active links. There are also countries not yet listed. If you find any errors in links etc. just let me know using the contact link on the front page.

The specimen photos are from the dealers from whom I acquired the specimens, and are therefore of differing size and quality. I will gradually replace them with my own. It is my intention that the enlarged photos will show much better detail but I currently rely on the photos I have.
